A new name deserves a proper introduction. Not just a logo reveal and a press release, but a real conversation about who we are, what we do, who we serve, and what every client can expect when they choose to work with us.

Who We Are
McLeod Contracting Group is a licensed and insured general contractor based in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina — serving residential and commercial clients across Wake, Harnett, and Johnston Counties.
We were founded in July 2021 by Gene McLeod as McLeod Home Services — a handyman service built on a simple belief that homeowners in the Fuquay-Varina area deserved a contractor who showed up, did the work right, communicated clearly, and treated the relationship as something worth keeping.
Five years later the scope of our work has grown significantly. The belief behind it hasn't changed at all.
Gene leads every project personally. He is hands-on throughout — from the initial discovery call through the final walkthrough — and he holds every project to the same standard he held the very first job we ever completed. That level of personal accountability is not something that scales away when a company grows. It is the foundation the company was built on and the standard every client across our service area experiences today.
Our team includes experienced project managers, licensed trade partners across every discipline — plumbing, electrical, HVAC, tile, framing, finish carpentry, cabinetry, and more — and established vendor relationships with local suppliers across Wake, Harnett, and Johnston Counties that allow us to source quality materials at competitive pricing on every project we complete.

Step 1 — Initial Inquiry: You reach out. We gather the basics.
Step 2 — Discovery Call: We discuss your vision, priorities, and investment range.
Step 3 — Initial Site Visit: We walk the space, assess conditions, discuss design, and provide an honest ballpark range based on past projects.
Step 4 — Pre-Construction & Design: Concept planning, material selections, budget refinement, engineering and trade coordination — and your JobTread client portal is activated at this stage.
Step 5 — Proposal & Review: A detailed, itemized proposal built from real vendor pricing — reviewed together, revised where needed, signed when you're confident.
Step 6 — Contract, Permits & Scheduling: Everything formalized, permits submitted and managed, materials ordered, trades scheduled, project fully built out in JobTread.
Step 7 — Construction Phase: Active execution with daily progress updates, real-time budget tracking, and written change order approval on any scope changes.
Step 8 — Final Walkthrough: We review the finished project together and address every punch list item before we consider the project complete.
Step 9 — Project Completion: Final documentation, warranty information, care and maintenance guidance, and permit closeout.
