McLeod Home Services Is Now McLeod Contracting Group

I want to share some news I’ve been looking forward to for a while.

McLeod Home Services is now McLeod Contracting Group.

Before I say anything else, let me get the most important part out of the way first, because I know it’s the question you’re actually asking.

The name is changing. That’s it.

Same team. Same values. Same process. Same commitment to doing things the right way that you’ve come to expect from us since day one.

Nothing about how we work is changing. Not who answers your call. Not how we communicate during a project. Not the standard we hold ourselves to when we hand a space back to you. If you’ve worked with us before, your next project will feel exactly like your last one — because it’s the same people, doing the same work, the same way.

This is a name change and nothing more. Same ownership, same company, same crew. We’re just wearing a name that finally fits.

So why change it at all?

When we started in 2021, we were a handyman service in Fuquay-Varina. Small jobs. Punch list work. We were just trying to prove something simple: that a contractor could show up when he said he would, do good work, communicate clearly, and treat people right.

Turns out that’s a pretty good business plan.

Project by project, client by client, the work kept growing. Kitchen remodels. Bathroom renovations. Home additions. Whole-home renovations. Screened porches. Crawl space and structural work. Bigger scopes, more complex builds, more moving parts. And more recently, commercial work — tenant upfits and office buildouts.

The name McLeod Home Services got us here, and I’m proud of every bit of what we built under it. But somewhere along the way it started to feel a little small for what we actually do. When a business owner calls about an office buildout, “home services” doesn’t quite describe the conversation we’re about to have.

McLeod Contracting Group is who we are now. Design, build, and remodel — residential and commercial. Small projects and large ones. It reflects the full picture of what we offer and where we’re headed.

What hasn’t changed is why we do this

Our mission is to positively impact lives — our clients’ lives, our employees’ lives, and our trade partners’ lives — by building lasting relationships grounded in integrity, inspired by faith, and driven by excellence.

Around here we call our values F.I.R.E.

•    Faith — what this company was built on, and what guides how we make decisions

• Integrity — doing what we said we would do. Especially when it costs us.

Relationships — we’re not here for the transaction. We’re here for the person.

Excellence — the standard doesn’t move because the job got harder.

Those four things have been true since day one in 2021. They’re not changing now. The name on the truck is new. What’s behind it isn’t.

To our current and past clients

I want to speak to you directly for a second.

Thank you. Genuinely. You trusted us with your homes and your businesses, and that trust is what built everything you’re seeing right now — the new name, the growth, all of it. None of this happened because of a marketing plan. It happened because you called us back, and you told your neighbors.

You’re still a Client for Life. That hasn’t changed and it isn’t going to. If you ever have a future project, or you know someone who does, I hope we’re the first call you make.

A word about the phone number

This is the one thing that’s actually new, so I want to be clear about it.

If you’ve had my cell saved since we worked together — keep it. That’s still my number, and I’m still going to pick up. I’m not putting a wall between us.

What’s new is (919) 283-6543, our main office line. As we’ve grown, the honest truth is that everything running through one phone in my pocket started to slow people down. The office line gets you the whole team — scheduling, questions, anything on an active project — instead of waiting on me to get off a jobsite.

So: save the new number for anything you need handled. Keep mine for when you want me.

Quick answers

Did the company get sold, or merge with anyone?

No. Same ownership, same team. This is a name change — a DBA — and nothing about the business behind it changed.

Is my warranty or ongoing project affected?

No. Every commitment we made under McLeod Home Services carries forward exactly as it stands under McLeod Contracting Group. Your project, your schedule, your point of contact, and your agreement are all unaffected.

Is Gene’s cell number changing?

No. Gene keeps his number and still answers it. The new office line just means routine things — scheduling, questions, an update on an active job — don’t have to wait for him to get off a jobsite.

Are your prices changing because of this?

The name change doesn’t change our pricing. We price each project on what it takes to do it right, same as always.

Do you still do smaller residential projects?

Absolutely. Adding commercial capability didn’t subtract anything. Residential renovation is the heart of this company and it stays that way.

Do I need to do anything?

Save our new office number, (919) 283-6543, and update our website in your contacts. That’s it.

What’s next

We’re excited about this next chapter, and I’d tell you to stay tuned — because the projects we have coming up are going to show you exactly what McLeod Contracting Group is capable of.

And as always — if you can dream it, we can build it.

Thanks for being part of this journey.
